In the hadith narrated by Abu Mas’ud: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “If somebody recites the last two Verses of Surat al-Baqarah at night, it will be sufficient for him.” (Sahih al-Bukhari 5051b) The last three verses and often regarded as the “three verses of Paradise”. Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud: “Allah has not created in the heavens nor in the earth what is more magnificent than Ayat Al-Kursi.” Sufyan said: “Because Ayat Al-Kursi is the Speech of Allah, and Allah’s Speech is greater than Allah’s creation of the heavens and the earth.” (Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2884). One of the most powerful verses, titled the throne verse or Ayatul Kursi (v.255) is contained in Surah Baqarah. The Surah gives further insight into the story of Musa (عليه السلام) and Ibrahim (عليه السلام). 256-257) and relations to other religions like Judaism and Christianity can be found in al-Baqarah. The surah covers a variety of topics and commandments from Allah (سُبْحَٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَٰلَىٰ) such as enjoining fasting during Ramadan. It is also the longest Surah in the Qur’an with 286 ayat and encompassing 1/12 or 8.3% of the entire text. Surah Baqarah is titled “the cow” from the mention of the cow in verse 67. “Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it can bear.”
